Millennials’ Favorite Millennial Whoops

The Millennial Whoop, a distinctive series of notes found in many of today’s pop songs as originally discovered by Patrick Metzger, is all over the news, and you might have read about it in one of your social feeds.

So we know it’s there. But why?

One reason for the preponderance of this particular whoop could be that these vowel sounds, belted out in a catchy melody by a united crowd, translate perfectly into every language. This is a global phenomenon — millennials all over the world, united in harmony under these anthemic tracks. So, which Millennial Whoop songs do the world’s millennials love the most?

To get the answer, we did some quick analysis to find the Millennial Whoop songs from our playlist that are most popular among millennial Spotify listeners (looking at anonymized, aggregated listening data for the past two weeks worldwide).
